Today marks the 19th anniversary of 9/11, may we never forget the lives lost and the sacrifice of those that responded.

Happy Aloha Friday!

COVID cases on Maui continue to stay low, and we continue to be very thankful. 

We are so excited that "Friday Night is Art Night" is back in Lahaina! There will be live demonstrations, live music, and more!  Click here for specifics. We hope to see you there (albeit from 6 feet away and behind a mask). We hope you all have a great Labor (or Labour, for you Canadians)  Day weekend!

Happy Monday!

Maui has reported very few new positive COVID cases in the last few days! We hope that trend continues.

Mayor Victorino also announced the state's new mandatory Safe Travels system. Hawaii is requiring all visitors to fill out a health questionnaire 24 hours before departing for Hawaii. It also sounds like they are going to be more consistent with follow-up during quarantine as well. Click here to read more.

Happy National Dog Day! I guess take your dog out to dinner?!? 

Things are about the same here on Maui. On Oahu however, Mayor Caldwell is putting into place a two-week stay-at-home, work-from-home order effective August 27, in an effort to stem the rise of COVID cases. We remain ever hopeful that Maui can maintain low numbers and remain at our current level of response.

Amidst the unknown of what decisions will be made because of the continued rise of COVID cases, we do know that getting in the ocean creates peace and allows some of the worries to be put on hold, at least for a little while.

With COVID cases on the rise, and the pre-travel testing program delayed yet again until October 1, at the earliest, things are feeling pretty discouraging here.

So, I guess the only way to address that is to get in the water, or film dogs getting in the water. Either way, it's bound to put a smile on your face.

Aloha! A new school year has begun! It sounds like (or at least it looks like through social media) that kids went back to school all over the country (in some shape or form) today. 

Here's to safe practices, wise teachers (especially if you're mom or dad!) and healthy children. Good luck!
