After sailing 60,000 miles over three years, and visiting more than 23 countries and territories and 150 ports, Hokulea returned home to Hawaii on June 17, 2017. The voyaging canoe arrived at Honolua Bay on August 17 as part of its Mahalo, Hawaii Sail.
“Now that we have returned from our three-year voyage around the world, we are looking forward to reconnecting with and thanking the people of Hawaii,” said Nainoa Thompson, president of Polynesian Voyaging Society.
