Update from Maui ~ your daily dose of "vitamin sea"

We wanted to take a minute to honor all the graduating Seniors in the Class of 2020. This past weekend was supposed to be a celebration (at least here in Hawaii); walking across the stage, having and going to graduation parties and honoring new beginnings.

One tradition here is honoring seniors with leis (this year they had to put them on themselves) and for Lahainluna, it is lighting up the "L". As a result of the social distancing, regular graduation ceremonies were either changed or delayed and in the case of Lahainaluna graduates, the community came together and shut down a portion of the highway and they had a "car" processional. For graduates at other schools throughout the island, there were a lot of "graduate drive-by parades".

We are thankful that there were still opportunities to celebrate the many years of hard work. Congratulations to the class of 2020!

Aloha from still quiet Front Street. Some stores have opened their doors, but more importantly the library (which is located at the end of the ocean in the video) is open for returns and requests!
