Lahaina is famous worldwide as the quaint little ocean side town on Maui. As we found out, Lahaina is a lot more than that.
We live in Lahaina, or, as they say here, we live Lahaina. When we first started visiting Maui back in the 80’s we stayed in Wailea and Kihei the first few times. But we found ourselves in the car all the time driving to Lahaina because something cool was happening there. So, when we finally moved to Maui Lahaina was a no brainer.

Dining
Being “locals” we always get questions about where to eat. Of course, that depends on what you want, but pretty often that means “we want local fish with an ocean view.” So, if that’s the case there are great restaurants from one end of Lahaina to the other starting at the south end with Pacific’O. That’s one of our favorites featuring fresh fish with daily specials and local organic produce.
Up the street you’ll find Kimo’s, everybody know Kimo’s. They offer fresh fish and ocean views in the middle of Lahaina Town. They also have live entertainment on several nights of the week.
At the far end of Lahaina you’ll find 2 of the most popular restaurants, Mala Ocean Tavern, Honu Seafood and Pizza, and Frida's Mexican Beach House.
